Matt Forbes

Chief Financial Officer

Matt Forbes was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer for Contact in May 2025. Since joining Contact in 2010, he has held leadership roles across corporate finance, investor relations, and M&A, playing a key role in delivering the company’s renewable energy strategy. His work has included leading over $2 billion in equity and green bond funding, driving the Contact26 strategy, and shaping Contact’s acquisition of Manawa Energy. Matt has over 20 years’ experience across corporate finance, capital markets, strategy, and risk—spanning both New Zealand and South Africa. A chartered accountant, Matt is known for his collaborative approach, trusted stakeholder relationships, and ability to align capital with strategy. He is passionate about building high-performing teams and bringing the financial confidence needed to accelerate New Zealand’s decarbonisation.

Jan Bibby

Chief People Experience Officer

Jan Bibby was appointed as Contact’s Chief People Experience Officer in November 2019. Jan joined Contact from Vodafone where she has held HR and Organisation Effectiveness roles both here in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Jan is responsible for our People and Safety team looking after one of our biggest assets – our people. She is skilled at leading transformational change and developing and implementing people and culture strategies. Jan combines experience in both HR and commercial sales and marketing, which enables her to look at the business in a holistic manner and bring the commercial and financial aspects to bear on key organisational decisions.

Matt Bolton

Integration Director

Matt has been with Contact since 2010 and was appointed as Integration Director in 2024. Prior to this, Matt was Contact’s Chief Retail Officer, a role he was appointed to in October 2021. When Matt first joined Contact, he worked across a number of senior roles in finance and operations, before moving into the retail team in 2014. Since then, he spent several years heading up Contact’s LPG and Commercial & Industrial divisions, before moving to lead the growth of the mass market business primarily through marketing, sales and broadband. Prior to joining Contact Matt held senior finance roles in financial services in the United Kingdom, following a five-year career with Deloitte in New Zealand.

Kirsten Clayton

General Counsel & Company Secretary

Kirsten joined Contact in 2008 as Senior Legal Counsel & Company Secretary following five years as a solicitor with Bell Gully. Kirsten was appointed to Associate in 2020, and General Counsel & Company Secretary for Contact in 2022.
